Deserts
Windows to the Soul
Of all the national parks in the United States, one of my favorite is Arches in Utah. With canyons that reach high into the sky and rock formations that seem to have personalities as big as they are, the place is ripe with photographic opportunities.
At night its a long way from anything and anyone and I found myself wandering alone here with my headlamp for hours. Looking overhead in this canyon, I must've tripped over smaller rocks a dozen times as my mouth fell agape at the heavenly sight in front of me.
I photographed this canyon from several different angles, but this was my favorite. I had to move a few times to line up the Milky Way just right, but I think I got it pretty good on this one!
