Pagodas, shrines and monasteries are everywhere in Japan and this little lake in Nara was no exception. I loved sitting on the shores of this lake and watching as the people passed by, some dressed in traditional Japanese garb and some looking more modern. I sat here into the night and was treated to an ethereal display of brilliance when the Milky Way rose above the trees.
