They almost look like stone turtles, don't they? These are the Morekai Boulders in New Zealand. How they got there and where they came from are a mystery. There are several dozen of them along the beaches in this area and lots of theories surrounding them, but as far as I know, no universal consensus on the origin of them.
I shot this at sunrise and it was as awesome as it looks here. Just being there was special and contemplating these giant stones was thought provoking as well. To give you an idea, these two in the foreground are probably about 8 feet in diameter, maybe more. Definitely bigger than a smart car or VW bug.
