A Hui Hou
On the west side of Maui is a place we call Keka'a, known as the "jumping off point," which is basically the last place on Maui that the sun touches before it fades down past the horizon.
Usually this area is full of tourists but one of the benefits to being such an isolated archipelago and having a virtual economic and touristic shutdown due to COVID, is the fact that these landscapes are now even more desolate. Meaning, I have my pick of where I want to go and almost no one is there. It's a crazy time and a beautiful time, all at once.
I called this shot "A Hui Hou" which in Hawaiian translates into "Until we meet again" which I thought was appropriate for both the setting sun, and the virtually empty Hawaiian landscape!
